Biography

From the age of six, Wayne Little felt the driving force of music in his life. He began learning how to play the guitar and, two years later, was singing solos in church. By the age of 10, he was singing and playing guitar in live performances with a band.

Two years later, the producers in Ernest Tubb’s recording studio recognized the rare talents of this unique 12-year-old, and put Wayne to work as a studio guitarist on their recordings. Several years later, Wayne did his first vocal recording in RCA Victor’s famed "Studio B" in Nashville, having been contracted by a major record label as a Country Music artist.

In 1991, Wayne felt the leading of the Lord to devote his musical career entirely to Christian music, which meant walking away from the record deal and starting "Crystal River Boys," a Gospel quartet that charted almost immediately with "The Spirit Descended Down."

Gospel music icon Hovie Lister heard Wayne sing in 1999, and decided that he must sing with the Statesmen Quartet. While performing with the Statesmen Quartet in the "Legends" tour, Wayne had the opportunity to blend his talents with several celebrated singers such as James Blackwood, J. D. Sumner, Jake Hess, and Ken Turner. While Wayne was singing with Hovie and the Statesmen Quartet, they were inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Wayne had the opportunity to spend some time with five-time Grammy Award-winning bass singer Ken Turner, and the two of them became close friends. They decided to hit the road with their original "Two Man Quartet," which was well received nationally, and was the precursor to their forming New Millennium Quartet (NMQ). NMQ toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe and, immediately following the tragedy of 9/11, recorded and released the awe-inspiring, "United through It All," with Wayne singing lead. This touching tribute to the heroes and victims of the malicious attack on America prompted military officials to contact NMQ and request that they perform the song live at the Pentagon. That performance was so poignant that they were invited back to perform it a second time.

"United through It All," which soared on the "Inspirational" charts, struck a chord with people across the country. On the first anniversary of 9/11, Wayne performed it in Florida as a soloist for a memorial service, which was sponsored by NASA and six local municipalities. By this time Wayne was certainly no stranger to solo performances because his solo work had received such widespread acclaim across the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean.

In 2003, Ken and Wayne decided to join forces with the world-famous Blackwood Gospel Quartet, and toured nationally, touching thousands of listeners with the distinct "Blackwood" sound.

Because of the overwhelming number of requests for him to sing, Wayne felt led to head in a new direction. Since the mid-‘70’s, people have known and loved Wayne’s recordings, but those recordings were typically releases of previously recorded songs. With the release of his self-titled CD, we are being blessed with new, original songs, introduced by Wayne and sung as only he can sing them. The eclectic nature of this CD is receiving rave reviews by a broad audience of all ages. Many of the songs on this CD were written expressly for Wayne by his business partner, Dean Haskins, who arranged the songs specifically to highlight Wayne’s incredible talent.

Contemporary Inspirational music has gained a brilliant seasoned artist, and will never be the same. Discerning Christian music listeners owe it to themselves to own this latest CD, which will undoubtedly become a treasured addition to any collection.
